Speaker Biography

MIA MONROE is the Marin Community Liaison for the National Park Service, GGNRA. She has been stationed at MuirWoods/ Redwood Creek Watershed for over 40 years and has responsibilities throughout the Marin GGNRA parklands. She studied at UC Berkeley, was involved in the early citizen efforts to establish the GGNRA and was in the first docent class at the Strybing Arboretum, in San Francisco. She is the volunteer Monarch Campaign Coordinator for The Xerces Society and sits on the One Tam Steering Committee. A Bay Area native, Mia lives in Marin and explores the county's natural wonders as often as possible.

Environmental Forum of Marin is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, and a United Way of the Bay Area Certified Agency.
